Eligibility
Am I eligible for Mounjaro?
You are likely eligible if your BMI is 30 or above, or 27 or above with at least one weight-related health condition such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnoea, or PCOS. You must be 18 or over. Use our eligibility checker ›
My BMI is between 27 and 30 - can I still be eligible?
Yes - this is an important pathway that many patients don't know about. If your BMI is 27 to 29.9 and you have a qualifying health condition, you may still be eligible under current MHRA licensing. See the full list of qualifying conditions ›
Do I have to come into the clinic?
Your initial consultation can be in clinic at our Battersea practice or online. Follow-up appointments and repeat prescriptions can be managed remotely. Medication is delivered discreetly to your door or you can collect from the clinic. Learn more ›
Can I get Mounjaro if I have type 2 diabetes?
Yes - Mounjaro is also licensed for the management of type 2 diabetes and can be particularly effective in this group. Your GP will review your current diabetes medications carefully as some adjustments may be needed. Please disclose all current medications in your questionnaire. Learn more ›
I'm on other medications - does that affect eligibility?
Some medications do interact with Mounjaro - particularly other diabetes medications, Digoxin, Warfarin and Lithium. Your GP reviews all medications at your consultation. Please list everything accurately in your questionnaire. It is rare for medications alone to prevent prescribing. Learn more ›
About Mounjaro
Where does your Mounjaro come from?
We work in partnership with Medirex Pharmacy (GPhC registered) and source exclusively from licensed UK pharmaceutical wholesalers. Learn more ›
What is the difference between Mounjaro and Ozempic?
Both are injectable weight loss medications, but Mounjaro (tirzepatide) works on two hormones - GIP and GLP-1 - compared to Ozempic's single GLP-1 mechanism. The SURMOUNT-1 Phase 3 clinical trial showed Mounjaro produces significantly greater average weight loss than previously approved GLP-1 medications. We prescribe Mounjaro only. Learn more ›
How much weight can I expect to lose?
In the SURMOUNT-1 Phase 3 trial, patients lost an average of 20.9% of their body weight at the highest dose over 72 weeks. 37% of patients on the highest dose lost over 20% of their body weight. Real-world results vary - our nutrition support is specifically designed to maximise yours. Learn more ›
How long will I need to take Mounjaro?
Most patients take Mounjaro for 12 to 24 months to reach and consolidate their target weight. We then work on a structured exit plan with your nutritionist to maintain results long-term. There is no set minimum or maximum - this is entirely individual and discussed with your GP. Learn more ›
What happens if I miss a dose?
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible within 4 days of the missed injection. If more than 4 days have passed, skip the missed dose and resume your normal schedule. Never double up. If you are unsure, WhatsApp your clinical team. Learn more ›
The process
How does ordering work?
New patients complete our eligibility check, then order and pay online. You then complete a full medical questionnaire which your GP reviews before your consultation. Your initial consultation follows - in clinic or online - where your prescription is issued and injection technique is demonstrated. Learn more ›
What if you can't prescribe to me?
If our GP determines Mounjaro is not suitable for you following assessment, you will receive a full refund of your order total. No questions asked. We may suggest a GP consultation instead to discuss alternatives. Learn more ›
How is my medication delivered?
Medication is dispatched by Medirex Pharmacy in discreet, temperature-controlled packaging. Delivery typically takes 1 to 2 working days after prescription sign-off. You can also collect from the clinic. We do not dispatch until your GP has signed off your prescription. Learn more ›
How do reorders work?
Existing patients complete a short eligibility check and health questionnaire, then select their current dose. Your GP reviews and authorises the repeat prescription. Every reorder includes a follow-up GP consultation. Start your reorder ›
Can I increase my dose?
Dose increases are decided at your monthly GP review based on your progress, side effect profile and tolerance. Mounjaro starts at 2.5mg and can be increased to a maximum of 15mg. Your GP will advise when and whether an increase is appropriate. Learn more ›
Side effects
What are the most common side effects?
The most common side effects are nausea, vomiting and constipation - particularly in the first few weeks and after dose increases. These typically improve as your body adjusts. We start at the lowest dose (2.5mg) and increase slowly to minimise this. Your nutritionist provides specific dietary guidance to manage nausea. Learn more ›
Is Mounjaro safe?
Mounjaro is licensed by the MHRA in the UK for weight management and has been studied in tens of thousands of patients in clinical trials. Like any medication, it has side effects. Our starting dose protocol and clinical supervision are specifically designed to minimise risk. Learn more ›
What should I do if I have a severe reaction?
For severe or worrying symptoms - including severe abdominal pain, signs of pancreatitis, or signs of an allergic reaction - call 999 or go to your nearest A&E immediately. For less urgent side effect queries, WhatsApp your clinical team and we will respond within clinic hours. Learn more ›
Will I lose muscle as well as fat?
Rapid weight loss can cause muscle loss alongside fat loss if nutrition is not managed carefully. This is why we recommend nutritionist support and, if possible, regular body composition scans. Our nutritionist sets specific protein targets and resistance exercise guidance to protect lean mass throughout your programme. Learn more ›
