You are likely eligible if...
These criteria follow current MHRA licensing and NICE guidance for tirzepatide in the UK.
- ✅Your BMI is 30 or above
- ✅Your BMI is 27 or above and you have at least one weight-related health condition (see below)
- ✅You are 18 years of age or over
- ✅You have tried lifestyle changes - diet and exercise - without adequate weight loss
- ✅You do not have any of the contraindications listed opposite
You are not suitable if...
These are absolute contraindications. Our GP will review your full history at consultation.
- ❌BMI under 27
- ❌Personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC)
- ❌Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN2)
- ❌History of pancreatitis
- ❌Currently pregnant, breastfeeding or planning pregnancy
- ❌Currently diagnosed with anorexia or bulimia
- ❌Under 18 years of age
BMI 27 to 29.9
Eligible at a lower BMI with qualifying conditions.
If your BMI is between 27 and 29.9, you may still be eligible if you have at least one of the following weight-related health conditions.
Type 2 diabetes
High blood pressure (hypertension)
High cholesterol or raised triglycerides
Obstructive sleep apnoea
Heart disease or history of heart attack
History of stroke or TIA
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
Osteoarthritis caused by excess weight
Pre-diabetes
Low testosterone linked to weight
Anxiety or depression related to weight
